We are a small but successful company delivering online training in the education sector (just 4 people at present), mostly in the UK and Australia. We are currently undergoing a period of rapid expansion and require a further IT professional to support our webmaster. This will involve the development and maintenance of our database driven online learning modules. There is also a direct interface with the customer to provide second level help and support. You will be based in our central Brighton office with two others, although there may be some opportunities for homeworking. We have a creative ethos and in addition to technical expertise will be particularly interested in candidates with design skills. Java Developer – 25-35k. : Brighton

Java Developer – 25-35k. Our client is currently recruiting for a Java Developer. The role is varied and involves working with internal and external teams to design and create new features on core products. Subsequently a high standard of coding will be necessary as will strong user interface design skills. The successful candidate will be involved in all stages of the development cycle and will be used to working with agile methodologies including unit testing, code review and continuous integration. Ideally educated to degree level with two years commercial development experience, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong JavaScript (jQuery), HTML5, and CSS. Awareness of mobile app development (iOS and Android) would be a distinct advantage. Salary for the successful candidate will be paid 25k-35k depending upon experience.

It is a complex bespoke ecommerce website, and our original developer is leaving soon. We require -Experience with PHP/MySQL/HTML/CSS -Good knowledge of Javascript -Passing knowledge of Photoshop or Gimp -Able to understand and work well with someone else’s code -Friendly and personable -Based near Brighton area for catch-up meetings every 2-4 weeks -Available for 5-10 hours per week, preferably in a regular weekly time slot -Planning to continue freelancing for a few more years Please send us your details with three example websites (which most closely match ours) and your hourly rate.
